Nancy Marcus has been a trailblazer since the start of her marketing career at leading companies including Phillip Morris and RJR MacDonald as one of the few female VP’s to have a seat at the Executive level. Now as Corporate Vice President of Marketing at Kruger Products (KPLP) and the only female on the KPLP Management Team for more than 15 years, Nancy has successfully contributed to the changing CPG landscape by redefining how companies embrace marketing to deliver bottom line profitability. 

 

Her keen insights and intuition position her as a “change agent” by demonstrating how brands can talk to a consumer form a women’s perspective with intelligence and respect. By applying this strategy, she has gained prominence as a brave marketing pioneer by developing breakthrough marketing and trade strategies within the dynamic grocery environment and her credible longevity has contributed to the success of KPLP as Canada’s brand powerhouse and market leader in the consumer tissue industry.

 

A recipient of the 2014 WXN Top 100 Award and the Star Women in Grocery 2014 Award, Nominated for 2008 & 2018 Marketer of the Year and currently Chair of Advertising Standards Canada, Nancy has been an active and dedicated participant in the industry and community.

Nancy Modrcin

Nancy Modrcin is the VP, Marketing for Metro Ontario Inc. where she is accountable for leading all elements of the marketing function for both the Metro and Food Basics retail banners. She leads a team that oversees brand strategy, shopper marketing, advertising, digital, customer experience and public relations. She has a broad range of experience built across multiple industries, including retail, consumer packaged goods, entertainment and publishing. Prior to joining Metro, Modrcin managed a variety of high-profile brands and product portfolios at several entertainment and lifestyle focused companies, including Mattel, NBC Universal, Harlequin and The Walt Disney Company. She has an Honours BA from York University.

Associate Vice President of Consumer Brands at Canadian Tire, responsible for the portfolio brand strategy for Automotive, Fixing and Yard owned brands. She has over 17 years of CPG marketing experience spanning across iconic brands such as Pepsi, Tropicana, Quaker and Campbell's in both retail and foodservice channels.

Tiffany Carver

“I get to choose the toy that goes in the cereal box!!!” That’s how Tiffany Carver described her role to friends and family when she first started her career with General Mills in 1999. Upon graduating from McMaster University, Tiffany knew that her future lay in the new and different. Today, Tiffany leads General Mills’ Integrated Shopper Solutions team, pioneering the idea of ‘partnership for change’ and successfully leading a talented team devoted entirely to value beyond item and price.
Tiffany always finds herself at the epicenter of change. Whether inside the walls of General Mills or as a trusted advisor at the customer’s table, she’s always at the top of the batting order for anyone facing a new challenge. Known for her passion and candour, Tiffany has pushed the envelope on more than one occasion to deliver some of the best-loved promotions and campaigns in the industry. In addition to being a go-to facilitator for innovative thinking, Tiffany is a strong supporter of women in grocery and serves on the women in leadership council for General Mills. Tiffany’s commitment to creativity, leadership, and results have been recognized by: the Canadian grocery industry with a Star Women in Grocery Award; by Path to Purchase Institute’s Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing; and by General Mills with the Chairman’s Award.
A lot has changed in her 18 years with General Mills, including the toys inside the cereal box. What has never wavered is Tiffany’s out of the box thinking that will continue to shake the industry.

Jean Francois Couture

JF Couture is the Marketing VP of Agropur (Natrel, Iogo, Oka, Sealtest…) leading the strategic development of the brand portfolio with P&L responsibilities. He leads a team of 70+ Marketers managing all aspects of Brand management, Portfolio architecture, Shopper Marketing, Digital, Insights, Innovation and B2B.

JF also worked 12 years at Procter & Gamble in Canada, US and Japan were a built leadership Brands in several categories in B2C, B2B and Foodservice markets. After P&G, JF was Head of Marketing for Metro Québec were he led a team of Marketing leaders responsible for the Metro and Super C banners re-positioning, 360 Mkt strategies and executions across all touchpoints (traditional media, Digital, Flyers, in-store, etc).

Elana Gorbatyuk

Ms. Gorbatyuk is SVP Strategy and Partner at International Creative agency, Sid Lee where she works with teams across the network to create meaningful and valuable experiences that people love to talk about and spend time in. Her work over the last 17 years is focused on unlocking insights and leverage points that create unique moments of truth and experiences for brands across virtually every category. These experiences are anchored in every discipline spanning retail, architecture, product development, digital, branded content, branding, and advertising.

Elana develops that teaches a particular kind of strategy that creatively blends cultural anthropology with business and innovation strategy. 

In her spare time, Elana steers boards of start-ups and volunteers on boards that have a human rights and higher education focus.

Tanbir Grover
Vice President, eCommerce & Omnichannel
Lowes Canada

Tanbir Grover is the Vice President, eCommerce & Omnichannel  for Lowe's Canada. He joined Lowe's in the summer of 2012, to lead and establish Lowes.ca as a comprehensive destination for home improvement products and inspiration. Prior to joining Lowe's, Tanbir was the Director of eCommerce at The Hudson's Bay Company where he successfully launched the site and was instrumental in its growth and success. Tanbir has also worked for Sears Canada in managing their online business and has a diverse set of experiences through his work with Coca-Cola and Bombardier. With an Honours Degree in Commerce from McMaster University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, Tanbir is a well-known and well respected advocate of Canada's emerging eCommerce industry.

Gina Kiroff
Director, Foods
Unilever Canada

Gina joined Unilever in 2006, holding various roles in Marketing on local and regional teams including the launch of Magnum in Canada and the creation of the Dove “Women Who Should Be Famous” campaign. She now oversees the Foods portfolio, leading the development of campaigns like Hellmann’s Real Food Movement and Knorr’s ‘What’s for Dinner?’ digital and in-store program. Prior to joining UL, Gina worked at DDB advertising agency as a strategic planner and in account services. She is an active volunteer in her community, most recently as President of her local Home & School committee.

Kathryn Matheson

Kathryn Bulmer Matheson is the Vice President of Research & Development & Innovation at PepsiCo Foods Canada. Kathryn leads the R&D and Innovation agenda for PepsiCo’s portfolio of Frito Lay flagship snack brands including Lay’s, and Doritos, and nutrition brands, including Quaker Foods & Snacks. During her 21 years at PepsiCo, Kathryn has held a number of executive leadership positions across Marketing, Sales, and General Management, recognized, with her teams, for creating and building leading brands, consumer programs and innovation.

She is an Executive Sponsor for PepsiCo Canada’s Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN), and serves on Canadian industry association boards. Prior to her time at PepsiCo, Kathryn worked in CPG marketing and graduated from Queen’s University, with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce. A volunteer, and a proud mother of a teenage daughter, Kathryn is also a lover of travel, photography, food culture and the never-ending search for lower golf scores.

Carlos Moreno

Carlos Moreno is one of the most successful creative directors in Canada. In his tenure as ECD of BBDO, it was named Canadian Agency of the Year by both Strategy Magazine and the Advertising and Design Club of Canada. Both firsts for the company. He was responsible in making the Toronto office a top 4 agency in the BBDO global network. In 2013, He was ranked #1 creative director in the country by Strategy Magazine. From 2004 to 2006, Carlos was Creative Directors and Partners at Amalgamated in New York working on Ben & Jerry’s and Cablevision.
He has been twice included in the top ten list of most awarded art directors in the world by Boards magazine and The Gunn Report.
In 2006, He brought his skills to BBDO where he run a variety of blue chip accounts, including FedEx, PepsiCo, RBC, Wrigley and Mars. Carlos is a native of Guatemala. In 2011 he was nominated as one the most Influential Hispanics in Canada by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. As of 2015 Carlos has brought his talent to Cossette to run McDonalds, General Mills, Intact, Sick Kids and Telus.

Roehl Sanchez

Roehl’s belief in great design, the power of data and "work that works" has led to countless award-winning campaigns and programs for some of Canada’s biggest brands such as Audi, Shoppers Drugmart, Loblaws, Shaw, Telus and Cogeco. He personally lead the launch of Shoppers Drugmart’s Optimum program, Murale, VIB as well as the PC Plus program from Loblaws.
Prior to BIMM, Roehl spent the first 20 years of his career at Cossette as S.V.P Managing Partner, Creative Director, where he worked on many award winning campaigns for clients such as Coca-Cola, Bell, P&G, Bank of Montreal, World Vision, Canada Post, General Motors and many more. Roehl’s work has garnered awards both nationally and internationally. From CMA awards, PROMO!, Shopper Innovation and Applied Arts to DMA ECHOs, One Show, Webby, Epica and Cannes. He was a judge at the Cannes Lions festival twice, the DMA Echos, New York Festivals, John Caples, Applied Arts, Marketing Awards and Chaired the Canadian Marketing Association Direct division as well as the National Advertising Awards Direct division.
